TESOL指“stands for Teaching English to speakers of other languages”,其意为“对外英语教学”,即对以英语做为非母语的学生进行英语教学。


TESOL是一门专业学科,而TESOL证书包含有两种,一种是TESOL学历证书,比如diploma of TESOL、master in TESOL等,再一种就是TESOL资格证书,一般称为international TESOL certificate。而国内很多情况下大家把TESOL混淆为TESOL资格证书,这显然是准确信息的缺失。关于TESOL学历证书,很多去国外留学读TESOL专业的学生都清楚,毕业以后拿到的就是学历证书,这属于留学的范畴,而经过短期学习认证获得的证书则被称为TESOL资格证书,下面会有详细的资格证书获取方式。


根据不同的教学场景,TESOL也被称为TEFL,TESL两种

TEFL是指Teaching English as a Foreign Language, and traditionally refers to teaching in non-English speaking countries,是指在非英语国家进行的英语教学。

TESL是指Teaching English as a Second Language and refers to teaching in English speaking countries, to non-native speakers living or working there,是指在英语国家对非母语为英语或者来此工作的人进行英语教学。

In practice, the acronyms TEFL and TESL are often used interchangeably, and both are covered by the all-encompassing TESOL, which stands for Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages。可见一般在国内使用的TESOL资格证书其实也就是TEFL证书,很多情况下TEFL,TESL,TESOL往往相同对待,不同国家和地区的叫法不同,国内一般称为TESOL/TEFL国际英语教师资格证(international TESOL/TEFL certificate)


当下,TEFL/TESOL证书做为英语教师的必学证书之一,越来越受到业内的关注和认可,权威而专业的TEFL/TESOL认证课程,不仅会提供含金量十足的资格证书,更重要的是有卓越的课程体系和专业的内容,对英语老师的教学有显著的提升和帮助作用。


需要注意的是:TESOL/TEFL证书没有统一的认证机构,也没有所谓的TESOL官网和TESOL总部,但是众多的认证机构都遵循一套标准的认证模式,大家可以参考CELTA的认证模式,两者就非常相似,也就是边学习边认证的模式,而不单纯是考试的形式。


国际通认的TESOL/TEFL认证模式是:

1,至少完成120小时的认证教学内容,不是耗费120小时的学习时间。

2,完成教学任务,包含:课堂设计,教案设计,教学感想等等。

3,完成6个小时的教学实践与教学观摩。

4,教学知识点的考试。

 

TEFL/TESOL证书及认证课程介绍:

中文名:TESOL/TEFL国际英语教师资格证书

二、 证书颁发机构:培生(Pearson)及纽约城市大学(Hunter)联合认证颁发。

三、 课时:120小时

四、 费用:3800元。涵盖从报名到证书认证完成所有的费用。

五、 认证模式:完成120小时的线上教学内容,完成每个模块的写作(课堂设计、教案设计),通过每个模块的教学知识点的考试,全部完成综合成绩达75分以上即可获得证书。

H. Douglas Brown is Professor of English at San Francisco State University (SFSU) where he is Director of the American Language Institute. Previously, he taught at the University of Michigan and the University of Illinois. He was the President of TESOL in 1980-81. From 1970-79 he was the Editor of Language Learning. He has lectured across the USA and internationally. Professor Brown has published many articles and books on second language acquisition and pedagogy.

David Nunan is a globally acclaimed linguist, former President of the TESOL International Association (1999-2000 tenure), and one of the leading textbook writes in the world. 3,Jeremy Harmer

Popular ELT author and trainer, Jeremy Harmer was educated in the United Kingdom and graduated from the University of East Anglia with a BA Hons in English and American Studies followed by an MA in Applied Linguistics from the University of Reading and has trained as a Teacher Trainer at International House. Jeremy has taught in Mexico, for which he retains an abiding love, and the UK. He has trained teachers and offered seminars all over the world. A writer of both course material and methodology, he is the author of methodology titles including The Practice of English Language Teaching, which is featured on our reading list, and How To Teach Writing as well as Graded Readers‏‎. Jack C Richards has had an active career in the Asia Pacific region and is currently an honorary professor in the faculty of education at the University of Sydney and at the University of Auckland and an Adjunct Professor at Victoria University, Wellington. He is a frequent presenter worldwide and has written over 150 books and articles on language teaching as well as many widely used classroom texts including the Interchange and Four Corners series. Recent publications include Key Issues in Language Teaching (Cambridge), Curriculum Development in Language Teaching 2nd edition (Cambridge), Approaches and Methods in Language Teaching 3rd edition (Cambridge), Language Learning Beyond the Classroom (with David Nunan, Routledge) and Creativity in Language Teaching (with Rodney Jones), Routledge. In March 2016 the International TESOL organization as part of their 50th anniversary honored Jack Richards as one of the 50 TESOL specialists worldwide to have made a significant impact on language teaching in the last 50 years.

5,Allen ascher

Allen Ascher, co-author of Top Notch and Summit series (Pearson Longman), has been a teacher and teacher-trainer in China and the U.S. He served as academic director of the International English Language Institute at Hunter College in New York and later, as vice-president of publishing at Longman, he played a key role in the creation of hundreds of widely used ELT textbooks for adults. Mr. Ascher has an MA in Applied Linguistics from Ohio University and has presented ELT workshops throughout Asia, Latin America, Europe, and the Middle East. This interview was conducted on November 19, 2006 in Tokyo.

Vicky Saumell is an English teacher and teacher trainer. She holds a degree in Spanish-English Literary and Technical Translation, a Diploma in the Theory and Methodology of TESOL and a degree in Educational Technology.
